Ahaha, you've got to be kidding me! The owner of the company!?
Wow. Just awful.

Honestly putting together a solid brochure isn't rocket science, and I really do like how you've summed it up here. I find it funny too when people try to get "creative" (ie: the owner photo fiasco). More often than not they're just messing with a good thing.

Cheryl, well said and I couldn't agree more. Recently, I saw what had to be the worst and unprofessional brochure I think I have ever seen. Once you opened it, there was a huge picture of the owner of the company. Extremely tacky! I can see if your image was the industry standard, like real estate, but this wasn't the case. Brochures speak a ton of what you want to portray to your customers. Thank you so much for the comment.

Most of the brochures I see are truly, truly awful - I wish more people read this post. The biggest point to me is "highlight the benefits". Get right to the point and sell your audience. Don't have a brochure that reads like an encyclopedia - write something truly ENGAGING! How so many people miss the boat on this I'll never know.

I think it would be best to give promotional gifts which best describes your company. Just a thought though.

A promotional bag may sound like a strange gift, but this is a highly effective promotional tool. Such bags are useful in a wide range of scenarios, as we all need to carry things that we cannot fit in our pockets. Just think, a bag with your brand identity on it will be seen everywhere that the person takes it. Plus, bags provide plenty of space upon which to place a sizeable and easily seen imprint of your logo or slogan.

If you give someone a nice looking item to wear, such as a promotional t-shirt or cap, then they will keep it for years. Remember, each time that they wear it, they will be promoting your brand for you. So, although they may not be the cheapest items to give away, they can certainly work to be the most effective in the long run.
