Secret Santa exchanges are a great way to spread the Holiday spirit in the office. While it is positive thing, it can quickly turn into bad office politics if you make some common mistakes. Don’t worry…we’re going to tell you what they are!

1.Have the Secret Santa exchange party early in the month of December. Why? Because there are many people who do not celebrate Christmas. By having it run all month you will be celebrating the season rather than the particular holiday and there will be fewer hurt feelings.
2.Have everyone fill out a paper with a few questions on it to give the giver an idea of what the givee likes. Items that should be noted are:allergies, flood and drink preferences, and favorite color…band…author…etc.
3.Have a precise amount to be spent on the gift …$5, $10, $25 or whatever.
4. State that the gift must be wrapped. If you don’t someone will be getting a last minute gift wrapped in a walmart bag.
5. Have a couple of extra gifts on hand in case someone doesn’t come through. No one need be the wiser.

There is almost nothing worse than choosing the perfect secret Santa gift and painstakingly wrapping it…only to be given McDonald’s Coupons.

Using these tips should ensure that the part is fun for everyone.
