Corporate Christmas Parties:Part One

Whether you run a small company with three employees or a huge mega- corporation, corporate Christmas parties are, or should be, a priority on your to do list. There is really no better way to build morale and tell your employees thank you for a year of loyal service.

As always budget should be your first consideration. How much can your company afford to spend on the party? Christmas parties can be done very well with out spending a lot of money. If you have a large budget you might consider a professional party planning service to make things easier. If your budget is modest then perhaps a team of employees can get a bonus for working on the party plans.

Location should be considered next. This will also depend on your party budget and the number of people you expect to be there. A small company might have the party at the office, at the home of one of the managers, or in a local restaurant. Larger budgets could allow for conference rooms in luxury hotels.

Next you should decide on a theme. Will it be a general Christmas party? A Winter Wonderland? An Old Fashioned Holiday? If you have a theme it can make it much easier to decorate and choose party favors. Be sure to have a little something for everyone on the list, whether it is a special pen or business card case. This is also a good time to decide whether or not you will be giving out special awards.

There is much more to consider. We’ll talk about that next time.
