While Christmas may seem a long way off in reality there are only two more weeks before the rush of the holiday season hits full blast. Make the most of the next few weeks with these tips for holiday gift giving.
Plan Ahead: It is almost too late for this. You should have a good idea of what you will give your clients and customers, and where you will place your order. Items will start to sell out soon. In fact, if you want to have your items personalized then don’t wait another day!
Know Your Shipping Deadlines: Sending items too late can mean that they don’t make it for the Christmas season. Late gifts are a bad reflection on your company. You can check shipping deadlines for 2008 online.
Double Check Schedules: Certain businesses close during the holidays, while some employees take vacations to see family out of state. Make sure that you check that the gift will make it to it’s intended recipient by sending it early or checking with them about schedules.
Giving a gift basket to an entire office is a great way to thank the entire office for their business during the year. Food always seems to be a welcome gift.
Personal Items:Generally personal items such as bubble bath, after shave, and perfume are not good business gifts even if you know the client very well. If this is a business gift then keep it business like and save the personal gifts for outside the office.
Liquor:While wine or liquor is often given as a business gift during the holidays this may not always be acceptable. Unless you know for a fact that this gift will be enjoyed by the recipient it is better to choose something else. Some people do not drink for health, religious, or other reasons. Even a flask or other liquor related item may be most unwelcome. Consider coffee related items instead.
Since the gift you choose to send to your customers and clients represents your company it is important that you plan your holiday gift giving carefully.
