Summer is officially over and in some parts of the country there is even a bit of chill in the air most mornings. The vacation cycle at the office has settled down and the school busses have extended our morning commute. But really, nothing says “Fall” like Football Season!
Many offices have football pools, and some even run their own fantasy leagues, although probably not encouraged by upper management. Using the excitement of football season to draw in our clientele is a great marketing tool. Here are a few strategies than you can try.
Fax a copy of each week’s NFL schedule to the offices or contacts you are marketing to. As them to circle each team they think will win. You will need a tiebreaker, perhaps the total score for the Monday Night game, in case more than one office chooses all the winners. The winner each week wins a pizza for the office, stadium blankets, or a gas card or a similar prize.
Also consider running a mock season with your own sales staff. Each member chooses a team name and colors, and then let the games begin! Set goals to coincide with the end of football season, and consider a Super Sales Bowl party to wind it all up. Prizes could include jerseys, hats, even tickets to events.
If you live in a town with an NFL or college team, game day tickets are a great way to thank your most loyal customers. You could throw in a parking pass and, if you’re going to the game as well, offer to be the tailgate party chef!
Use your imagination and some fantastic football marketing strategies, and get your marketing team excited – together you can work to make this fall a record-setting marketing season.
